Beta galactosidase is a common and traditionally used biomarker for cellular senescence. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate this marker of senescence in cells that were exposed to UVA and treated with the test samples to observe how efficient the product is in reducing the senescence. The SA-β gal positive cells stain blue green, which can be scored under bright-field microscopy and quantified for analysis.

Pre-clinical study show cell aging reduced by 69.5% when treated with Rejuvenate

Sunlight, especially UVA and UVB rays, can cause sunburn and premature skin ageing. UVA has been long associated with skin aging where it can cause collagen to break down at a faster rate than normal aging. 

Irradiation of fibroblast (mainly responsible for collagen and growth factor production in the skin) were phenomenally reduced when treated with Rejuvenate Nutri-Serum which is almost double the efficacy (1.8x) when compared to Vitamin C. 


After incubation, cells were harvested with 1 N NaOH containing 10% DMSO and then heated at 60 °C for 1 h to dissolve melanin. The absorbance of the heated solution and media at 400 nm was measured. The total melanin content was normalized to the concentration of total protein.

Melanin production reduced by 25% in just 24 hours in pre-clinical trials when treated with Illuminate.

Melanocytes are primarily responsible for the production of protective melanin pigment. While melanin is necessary for the protection of skin against UV rays, excessive amounts will lead to hyper-pigmentation.

Melanocyte when treated with Illuminate Nutri-Serum has been shown to be effective and safe in reducing the melanin level by 25% just after 24 hours.
